Meet the Artist

Hi there!

I’m Alice Nguyen, a Vietnamese Australian watercolour landscape artist who celebrates the unassuming beauty of nature and its role in shaping our sense of identity.

Caught between navigating the tension between cultural expectations, societal pressures and personal aspirations as the eldest daughter of Vietnamese refugee parents growing up in Australia, it was time spent in nature—spaces untouched by judgment, that revealed a sense of belonging on my own terms. In the shifting light and quiet presence of trees, it was here, that freedom, self-acceptance and the realisation that my worth was never tied to achievement.

Distilled from a collection of photographed moments and lived experiences within Australia, each painting reflects how the places we move through shape our identity. Each unique piece captures light, texture, and vast open spaces, offering a moment of stillness and reflection. Through soft, flowing imagery, my art invites you to pause, reconnect, and embrace the landscapes that hold meaning for you.

If you’ve ever felt the weight of expectation, my work is here to remind you that you don’t have to prove yourself—you are enough.

Whether you’re a Sydney local seeking a meaningful connection to place or someone who dreams of Australian landscapes, you’ve come to the right space. You can explore my work here.

My work has been showcased internationally at the London Open Art Vision Festival (2022), Sydney Royal Arts & Crafts Competition (2025), and is held in private collections.
